Chapter 83
Selena POV:
Waking up the next morning and feeling hot. Tossing the quilt of me when his arm comes around my waist and pulls me flat against him.
Feeling a mind link trying to reach out to me I pull at it and feel Cannon on the other side trying to contact me. Opening the link up.
“I think you should get here!” he says right away.
“Alright, I’m coming in a bit!” I tell him and cut the link. Reaching out to Jessie and letting her know I will be going back home. She is quick to pick the link up and wants to come with me.
Turning my head and looking over my shoulder when I’m done mind linking I see Kian looking down at me.
“You need to go!” he says and has already guessed what’s going on.
“Yes, Cannon wanted me to come right away!” I say and get out of the bed. Placing my feet down on the cold floor while reaching for my bag and taking out some clothes.
“Do you want me to come along with you!” he says and I take a second to think about it.
“It’s better if you try and go over as much paper as you can. I will come back and help you when I’m done in my pack!” I say and pull some pants on before changing my shirt when he walks up from behind and wraps his arms around me.
“As long as you come back and don’t run off somewhere else again, I can let you leave!” he says and turn me around in his arms. He looks sternly at me and a part of me wants to tease with him a bit but I know he won’t let me go if I do.
“Promise!” I say and get up on my tippy toe and give him a quick peck on his lips.
“No that’s not enough!” he says and holds my head in a firm grip before leaning down and giving me a kiss that makes me weak in my knees. When he let me go, I have to catch my breath for a second.
“Now you may go!” he says and drop his hold on me. Turning around I grab my bag and place it to the side. I might as well keep it here; have a feeling it will be good to leave some clothes here.
“Let me know if there is anything urgent you find!” I tell him before opening a portal and getting inside.
Walking out on the other side and find Zoey standing outside our prison and waiting for me.
Searching for Jessie, I find her and open a portal for her to walk through.
When she comes walking out of the portal I smile wide at the sight. She looks like she has one rough night.
“So, you gave into the mate bond and from the look of it you had a nice time!” Zoey says and wiggles her eyebrows at her. I start to laugh at the way Jessie blushes.
“Yeah yeah! I had no other choice! He wouldn’t have let me leave otherwise!” she says and now Zoey starts to laugh.
“Like that would have stopped you!” I say and wink at her. I’m happy for them to complete the bond. I think he is a good guy.
“Alright, will you stop it? He is a good guy!” she says with anger and I raise my hands up in surrender. I’m not here to argue with her, only took the opportunity to tease her a bit!
“I never said anything else! I think it’s good you gave in to it. I only want you happy Jessie!” I say a turn around to walk into the prison instead.
I hear them both walk after me when I push the door open and find two of my guards standing inside the doors and further down the hall is a very bl**dy Cannon. I hear the other two men he brought with him standing and chatting in one of the cells.
Looking their way while we walk past and both of them look as bl***dy as Cannon!
Walking up to him he has a towel in his hands he tries to wipe off some blood from his hands. Looking around in the cells I see all the rogues we brought inside are unconscious and the bald guy and the other one Emma reacted against are laying in a pool of their own blood.
Without any doubt they are dead!
“What’s the problem?” I say to Cannon and turn my head to look at him.
“I’ve got some useful information out of all of them and we got a problem on our hands!” he says and toss the towel on a chair before he turns his head to look at me.
“What problem?” I say and wait for him to tell me what it is.
“They have found out Kian is mated to a powerful white wolf and you are their top target to get a hold on!” he says and I have to take a moment to think about it!
I know I have been revealing myself by taking out the rogues on the field and the one I run into by the cliff at his land. But how could they know he is mated to me? What are we missing?
“How could they know? We have only been here and in the castle. I trust my pack and my men! How could anyone else find out?” I ask out loud when I can’t put the pieces together. Cannon shakes his head and I understand he thinks the same as I do.
“That I couldn’t get out of them and I have no idea! We have to let Kian know and put out more guards around your borders. If they know about you it could mean they have found this place somehow!” he says while I think about it.
“I have this feeling we are missing something here!” I say and try to remember all the places we could have been seen together and there isn’t anything else. If they saw when he marked me to save my life then it would explain it but we took out all the rogues we saw there!
“We tried to get it out of them but none said a word more after! Kian needs to know” Cannon says and I know he is right. I have to let him know it.
“I will talk to him! I have to go and talk to Sari and Emma first before I can go back to him!” I say and start to turn around and look for Emma. I haven’t talked to her since the fight yesterday and we left it bad.
“There was something else!” Cannon says after me and I turn back to look at him.
“What do you want to do with the rogues!” he says and points to the dead once in the cells. I have seen enough of them!
“Do whatever you want with them!” I say and shrug my shoulders before turning and walking out of the door with Zoey behind me.
