I rubbed the coat with my hand. I did not want Liam to find out I was hugging 
his coat while crying. 
Even though I could not always be in high spirits whenever I met him, I was 
nonetheless happy. 
After all, he was the one I chose. I thought I would have more time to 
eventually move his heart. 
The stain remained no matter how hard I rubbed it. 
It was a small setback, but it brought me to despair. Suddenly, a hand 
reached out to me. 
I noticed the diamond ring on the ring finger and thought I was dreaming 
again. 
The hand took the coat and pulled it from my arms.

I lifted my head as I watched the coat leave my arms, and I saw Liam’s face.

He was still dressed in the same clothes, though he was removing his necktie 
with his other hand. He glanced at the coat and tossed it on the floor as 
though it were a piece of trash. 
I felt sorry for it, and I wanted to go and pick it up. 
Suddenly Liam took a step in front of me and pinned me down on the sofa. 
He leaned dangerously close to me and grabbed my lower jaw. 
I stared at him in shock. There was a hint of violence and hostility in his eyes. 
“Who was that man?” 
What is he talking about? 
He narrowed his gaze. His jawline became taut, and his chest began to 
heave. 
“Open your eyes and look carefully!” He pinned me down even harder. “I am 
your husband, Vivienne Nyra!” 
I did not expect him to say that. 
Yes, he is my husband, but I can only be intimate with him in my dreams, I 
thought sorrowfully. 
Tears welled up in my eyes. I wanted to lift my hands to cover my face, but 
suddenly, he lowered his head and bit my lips. 
Liam kissed me. 
I was surprised, but I was not happy. 
It did not feel the same as in my dreams. 
There was no tenderness, only pain and the metallic tang of blood. 
Tonight, he did more than kiss me.
