My body was covered in a blanket, and I could also feel the body heat 
coming from Liam. However, I was still shivering a little as I felt cold all over. I 
subconsciously moved closer to Liam to get warm. 
Liam had his eyes closed as he lightly put his forehead against mine. A brief 
while later, he slowly sat up and took an ear thermometer from the bedside 
table.

“You’re having a fever again.” 
After he had gotten the reading, Liam reached for the medicine and water 
placed on the bedside table and handed them to me. 
As I swallowed the medicine, Liam looked at me and said, “You’re running a 
fever for two days now. Did you enjoy catching a cold? Are you going to run 
off on a whim like that again?”

It was well past eight when I woke up later in the morning. My fever had 
subsided, and Liam was no longer in bed. I vaguely remembered him waking 
me up briefly before he left for work. 
I think he was telling me to stay at home. 
While I tried to remember if Liam had said anything more, I caught a faint 
whiff of a familiar scent. Liam’s body scent was still lingering on my skin. 
Just then, I spotted a document placed on the bedside table. It was an 
agreement to transfer the ownership of some shares to me with Liam’s

I kept my gaze on the document for a while. Then, I picked it up and tore it in 
half. I opened the drawer and stuffed the shredded paper into it. 
I went to the bathroom to take a shower next. I was feeling slightly 
light–headed, and the smell of shampoo made me nauseous. I quickly 
washed and headed out to take my medication. 
As I didn’t feel like eating that morning, I decided to skip breakfast and went 
into the study. I turned on the computer and started going through the 
information I had gathered for the project. 
Soon afterward, I found myself craving something sour, so I asked Mrs. 
Sullivan to cut up some oranges. 
When Mrs. Sullivan came into the study and placed a plate of fruits on the 
table, she did not leave right away. Instead, she stared at me intently for 
quite some time.

I felt the intensity of her gaze and asked curiously, “is something the motter” 
“Ms. Vivienne, is it possible that you’re pregnant?” She said, “I noticed that you

I shook my head. “No. I’m not pregnant.” 
Though I’m not that fond of eating oranges, I would still have them from time 
to time. 
Also, even though I haven’t had my period this month, it’s probably due to the 
effect of the medication that I’m on at the moment. One of the medicine’s 
side effects was that it prevents pregnancy. 
I skipped lunch that day and managed to prepare everything that Liam 
asked for by three in the afternoon. 
Sigh… Even if Liam were interested in investing in this project, would I be able 
to stay around and complete the project in time? I have at most five months

to mine and kissed me. 
It was simply impossible for me to shove Liam away due to the differences in 
our strength and size. I gave up eventually. Fortunately, Liam just kissed me

you. I’ll call Mr. Mendez and you can talk to him…” 
Anna threw her arm back and slapped Mrs. Sullivan across the face. “Don’t 
you dare call him! Did we not treat the lot of you well back when you were 
working for our family? Why are you helping that man keep my sister here?!”
