Chapter 97 (Harper Alizah Grace’s POV)
“Zandea told me that you’ve been such a pain in the a*ss after I left, is that true?” I asked him. He was playing with my hair, while me I’m laying down on the couch while head resting on his lap.
“Who wouldn’t be so grumpy after being left by the person he or she loves?” He answered causing me to gulp silently. Right, that’s very unfortunate and uncomfortable feelings that someone might ever feel.
The feeling of being lonely and unwanted. I should minimize talking about leaving and staying. I look at him again, “You’re always grumpy with or without me. But it’s not that hard to be kind right?” I asked once again.
He slowly nodded his head and gaze at me. “No it’s not. But this is me, I should show authority and power to everyone.” My brow slightly crumble. “Why? For them to fear you, respect you?” I saw him grinned.
“Partly, I’m the Alpha King. Everyone should respect me with or without their will. Disrespect me then they will see what they deserve,” he said so seriously. I don’t know but that made me smile.
“I sometimes disrespect you, why you didn’t punished me?” I asked wittily. He chuckled and mess up my hair which making me to glare at him so badly.
“Stop messing my hair, it’s not funny.” He stopped but devilishly grinned.
“I will haha. But no, I do punished you.” He said. What? Already punished me? Does that mean, by making me upset, that was his punishment?
“I punished you by trapping you with me, you can run and hide from me love, but you can never escape.” He continued.
I stared at him for a long time, A wide smile slowly crept into my lips. Geez, I found that very sweet yet cheesy.
But it does give butterfly in my stomach.
I playfully punch his stomach and laugh, “That’s not really you haha. But can I ask something?” he look at me and nodded his head.
“Yeah, sure. Go ahead,” he permits me.
“What if one day you will know something about me that surely will hurt you?” I asked bravely. It’s not on the plan for me to ask that one but I really wanted to know his answer.
I’m pretty sure that after tonight, he’ll start to hate me. It is very hard, that after all the things we gone through together, it will end like this.
“Know something about you that surely hurt me,” he mumbled as he narrowed down his eyes like he was thinking so deeply. A few seconds of silent, he look at me in my eyes.
“Are you keeping something? Why did you ask about that?” he questioned. I know he’ll ask that one, I smile to cover up my guilt.
“No, I’m not keeping something. That’s a pure what if question. Can you answer it?” I lied. Of course, I’m keeping something from him, not just to him but to everyone except Amanda.
He slowly nodded his head and look at the ceiling, “I’ll be hurt and betrayed. I mean, who wouldn’t get mad after knowing that the someone you love is keeping a secret from you, keeping something is a sign of having no trust.” He’s right, but that’s not the reason why I’m I had a secret.
It is for their safety too, I just… I just don’t want to repeat the same thing that was happened in the past. “What can I do?” he paused and look at me again. There is a small yet soft smile on his lips. “If ever you lied on me, I’ll forgive you. I love you so much in the way that I can’t keep a single hate towards you,” I don’t know but, his word t*ouch my heart.
He’s willing to forgive me, “Are you serious about that?” I reconfirm in low voice. I didn’t expect him to say that, but I’m very glad he did.
He nodded and caressed my hair slowly. “Yes, hundred percent sure about it.” I couldn’t help but to feel guilty again, this is seriously harder than I expected.
I closed my eyes and then plastered a smile. “That’s very sweet of you, but seriously, if I ever hurt you, you can hate me you know. You might be the Alpha king, but you’re still a person who can feel different emotions.
Except if you’re really a robot,” I joked.
He chuckled from what I said and messed up my hair again. Argh, that’s quite a little frustrating, I slapped his hand away from my hair.
“Zach!” I warned him. His laugh louder, “Relax haha, I’m not a robot, but I’m your baby.” He joked causing me to laugh hard.
“That’s very cringe,” I commented. He playfully grinned, “At least it makes you smile.” Right, but still cringe.
“Anyway, you still haven’t told me your dare.” He changes the topic.
“Dare? What dare?” I asked in confusion. He gave me a meaningful look, “The bet, the bet in the river falls, you won right?” Why I can hear bitterness in his voice haha. Anyway, right, the Bet.
“I still haven’t thought about that thing, give me a minute.” I narrowed down my eyes to focus. What should I make him do? I glanced at him, he was waiting patiently. Alright, I won’t make him suffer, a smile formed in my lips.
This surely will make him happy.
“So, you’re smiling like that. I’m sure you have think about something right?” I slowly nodded.
“Yes,” I replied and get up from his lap and sat next to him.
“I’ll tell what I wanted you to do now.” He nodded while still looking at me.
“Sure, tell me.” I grinned.
“K*iss me.”
He blinked twice, obviously confused. “Sorry, could you repeat it?” he maybe thought he just misheard it. I smiled widely, “K*iss me.” I repeated.
He looked very shock from what I said. Am I too, I don’t know what I’m thinking but I’m afraid, this would be our last k*iss.
“Are sure?” He asked to confirm. I nodded and answered yes.
“Gladly,” as he said that he smiled widely and connect our lips together.
As soon his lips t*ouches mine, there are hundreds of butterflies in my stomach.
He k*iss me slowly and carefully as if I’m a kind of a fragile glass that he doesn’t break. He’s very gentle but I can feel that he’s holding back himself.
Maybe he’s afraid that he might offend me if he’ll let go himself and hurt me. I’m not dumb not to see that he wanted to deepened the k*iss and explore the hell out of me.
I smile between our kisses, I look directly in his eyes, he’s looking back. I slowly nodded giving him the sign that he was asking for.
Without saying any single word, he grab my butt and placed me on his lap while still looking directly in my eyes.
“You’re so beautiful,” he whispered huskily. I bit my bottom lips to suppress my smile, damn that so sweet of him.
I smiled and slowly t*ouch his cheeks. “You don’t look bad either.” I said and grinned. He chuckled, “Of course, I’m freaking handsome.” Haha, he’s too confident.
“Okay handsome, can you k*iss me again?” I flirted. He laughed once again and pulled my face closer to him.
“I would love to, my queen.” He said as he captured my lips.
There’s nothing I wanted more at this time, if ever this will be our last moment together, I’ll accept our fate.
He told me that he’ll forgive me when he will know about my secret but I doubt it, knowing him, he’ll surely hate me.
A few hours had been passed, I watch him sleeping peacefully in my bed. I needed to leave now, smiling sadly. I stood up and leaved the letter above the table that I wrote a while ago.
I reached out for my cloak and started to walk towards the door.
Before leaving, I look back for the last time.
“Till our paths will cross again, I love you.” I whispered and completely leave. I will go back to the palace first then I’ll start to travel.
“Are you really serious about this, Harp?” Amanda asked me while I’m walking towards the car I’ll use again. I nodded my head, “Yes, I needed to do this Am. You will still support me right?” I know she’s just worried about me, but I can take care of myself.
“Yes, I’ll support you but the king…” I know, I know he’ll loathe me after doing this.
“Don’t worry about it too much, if he’ll ask you, just tell what I told you to do.” She nodded and let out a sigh. “Alright, good luck then. Have a safe trip,” I nodded and gave her a hug.
I will, always Am. Have a great life too, I’ll send you a letter if something happened.” I said and tapped her back.
“Sure, I’ll wait for it. Anyway, I have to go back now before my husband notice that I’m gone.” I nodded my head
“Yes, you should. I’ll get going now too,” she nodded back.
I watched her leave first before I get in the car. A sigh escape from my lips when she’s already out of my sight. This is it.
