Chapter 81 A Probing Touch
When there were only two people left in the room, Freya looked at Radley, still frowning
“Radley, you invited me to join the Joint Department and I’ve been working here for almost a month now. I can have my break, right? We are in a cooperative relationship. I am not your subordinate.”
He sat upright with a clear and dignified aura and spoke in a calm tone. “I know, but I think it’s necessary for you to stay here.”
“Why?” She was getting angry.
He looked up at her. Her eyes were like two little suns burning with flames when she was angry.
He suddenly had a thought.
“Freya, are you dating Matthew?”
Freya frowned. “That’s my personal matter. Besides, what does that have to do with what we are discussing?”
“Matthew is not suitable for you. It’s irresponsible if you want to free up your work time just to go on dates, Radley said coldly.
“Whether he’s suitable for me or not is none of your business.” She gritted her teeth. “And even if I do want to go on a date, I’ve never heard of any project that requires the president of the group to stay put!”
His eyes narrowed. “Are you really dating him?”
He suddenly stood up and leaned in closer to her.
His imposing manner was already intimidating, and now that he was so close to her, it was even more pressure-inducing.
She felt like she was completely enveloped, and the familiar scent of agarwood made her heart skip a beat.
She glared at him. “It’s none of your bus-”
Suddenly, Radley’s hand touched her face. Freya’s eyes widened and she forgot to react.

She snapped back to reality and slapped his hand away. “What are you doing?!” She was angry and annoyed.
He pursed his lips. He had been restless lately because of her. He suddenly wanted to try something. Since he was with her every day in the Joint Department, he still couldn’t figure out the reason for his
restlessness.
He tried getting closer to her.
However, Freya walked away in anger.
Radley stood there and his gaze was complicated.
Her skin was delicate, just like before, but also different.
The warmth of her body transmitted to his palm, causing his initial probing action to pause due to his heartbeat. He wanted to grip that warmth and hold onto it.
After standing for a few minutes, he suddenly smiled.
So that was it.
He wanted to hold onto her. After losing her, he realized her importance.
He sat back in his chair. The temporary Joint Department meeting room had poor sound insulation, and the voices outside sounded distorted.
In the meeting room, time seemed to be still, while outside the door, the voices were buzzing.
During those two years, even if he had tried to understand Freya once, it wouldn’t have led to where they
were now.
Radley’s ink-black eyes looked into the void.
Now, he and Freya were divorced, and he understood her character now. She would never look back.
He tightly pursed his lips, and his hand on his side clenched into a fist, so tight that his knuckles turned white.
He suddenly understood why he had been restless and uneasy lately, but he realized that it was a hole that could not be filled.
It wasn’t because of a broken relationship, but because heaven had wiped him from Freya’s memory.
He stood there for a long time, and suddenly a thought flashed through his mind.
What if she remembered the past?
She used to love him so much. Since memories could be lost, there must be a possibility of memory recovery…
Radley went to Freya’s office and could see the faint shadow in her office through the door.
After thinking for a while, he returned to his own office.
Freya was packing her things in her office.
She was four months pregnant and her belly was already slightly visible. She looked at her waist, her stomach seemed like she had eaten too much.
If she continued like this, she wouldn’t be able to keep it a secret for much longer. Although she didn’t mind staying in the Joint Department, she was afraid of being exposed.
When she was halfway through packing her things, her phone rang lightly on the table.
She looked at it, it was from Radley.

After packing her things, she left the Joint Department.
She drove back to the Kaufmann Residence and asked the butler about Braxton’s whereabouts.
Braxton was sitting in the electric wheelchair under a large plane tree in the backyard.
She approached him quietly. “Brax, what are you thinking about?”
Braxton turned his head and was a little surprised. “Why are you back so early?”
“The initial work at the Joint Department in the West Geft has been finalized. I don’t need to go there if there’s nothing important. I’ll be at the Kaufmann Group starting tomorrow.”
Freya sighed after finishing her sentence.
Braxton’s eyes were probing. “Did Radley do something?”
He knew about the cooperation between the Kaufmann Group and the Monaghan Group.
But after all, it was his sister’s decision, and he couldn’t do anything about it when he was in the hospital.
“He didn’t do anything. We’re just project partners now.” She sat next to him.
Radley’s touch earlier today had left her feeling a bit uneasy on the way back.

She realized the Radley had actually saved her life.

“Call it even? How can you call it even?” Braxton’s face turned dark.
Freya whispered, “When you were injured in the hospital, I was afraid that you and Mom would worry, so I didn’t tell you some things…”
She slowly mentioned that someone had attacked her secretly, but omitted the identity of Killblade.
The more Braxton listened, the more shocked he became and he almost stood up from his wheelchair in the end. “Are you silly? Why didn’t you tell me sooner about this kind of thing!”
